Because you’re looking at information about MCSE training programs, the chances are you’re in one of the following categories: You could be considering a dynamic move to the world of IT, and all evidence points to a growing demand for certified networking professionals. Alternatively you’re currently an IT professional - and you should formalise your skills with the MCSE accreditation.
When researching training providers, avoid those that cut costs by failing to provide the current Microsoft version. In the long-run, this will mean the student has to pay a lot more because they’ve been studying an old version of MCSE which will need updating pretty much straight away. Avoid making a hasty decision when buying a training program before you feel comfortable. Find a computer training company who will spend time helping and advising you on the most suitable training path for your requirements.
It only makes sense to consider learning courses which will progress to industry accepted accreditations. There’s an endless list of small companies pushing their own ‘in-house’ certificates which are worthless when you start your job-search. If your certification doesn’t come from a major player like Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco or Adobe, then it’s likely it won’t be commercially viable - because no-one will recognise it.
Of all the important things to consider, one of the most essential is always 24×7 round-the-clock support via professional mentors and instructors. It’s an all too common story to find providers that will only offer a basic 9am till 6pm support period (maybe later on certain days) with very little availability over the weekend. Try and find training where you can receive help at all hours of the day and night (even if it’s early hours on Sunday morning!) Ensure you get direct access to tutors, and not a call-centre that will take messages so you’re consistently being held in a queue for a call-back at a convenient time for them.
Be on the lookout for colleges that utilise many support facilities across multiple time-zones. These should be integrated to give a single entry point and also access round-the-clock, when you need it, with no hassle. Unless you insist on support round-the-clock, you’ll very quickly realise that you’ve made a mistake. You may avoid using the support late in the night, but what about weekends, early mornings or even late evenings at some point. Nip over to MCSA Training for great tips.
Doing your bit in revolutionary new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. You become one of a team of people creating a future for us all. Society largely thinks that the technological advancement that’s been a familiar part of our recent lives is easing off. This couldn’t be more wrong. We have yet to experience incredible advances, and the internet in particular is going to dominate how we conduct our lives.
Should receiving a good salary be up there on your goal sheet, you will welcome the news that the average salary for most men and women in IT is much higher than salaries in much of the rest of industry. The need for appropriately qualified IT professionals is guaranteed for a good while yet, thanks to the continuous development in this sector and the huge skills gap that remains.
We’re regularly asked to explain why traditional academic studies are now falling behind more commercially accredited qualifications? Accreditation-based training (in industry terminology) is far more specialised and product-specific. Industry has become aware that such specialised knowledge is essential to meet the requirements of a technically advancing world. Microsoft, CompTIA, CISCO and Adobe dominate in this arena. Typically, the learning just focuses on what’s actually required. It’s slightly more broad than that, but the principle remains that students need to master the precisely demanded skill-sets (along with a certain amount of crucial background) - without trying to cram in every other area (as universities often do).
Just like the advert used to say: ‘It does what it says on the label’. All an employer has to do is know what they need doing, and then advertise for someone with the specific certification. They’ll know then that all applicants can do what they need.
